Saturday Kitchen host Matt Tebbutt was forced to abruptly interrupt the live show just minutes into Saturday's episode due to an on-air mishap. As the show kicked off, 51-year-old Matt provided a preview of what was in store for viewers, sporting his glasses atop his head. But following the opening credits, a flustered Matt quickly stopped the broadcast, exclaiming to the audience: "Hi! Welcome to the show, those are my glasses!" as laughter erupted in the studio when his glasses seemed to vanish.
He explained: "That was, sorry! I wear them on there [my head] all the time and they just get quite loose! If it wasn't live, we'd cut that out and then we'd be laughing at nothing!". The episode featured Strictly Come Dancing star Oti Mabuse, who left Matt astonished with her striking new hairstyle as she showcased her fresh look on the culinary programme, reports the Mirror. Oti, 34, revealed a chic short haircut, prompting Matt to comment: "Look at you with the short hair!" to which she responded: "Thank you! Do you like it?" and Matt affirmed: "I do like it, a lot!" "We haven't seen this, have we?" he added, to which Oti, celebrating her fifth appearance and Saturday Kitchen anniversary on the show, replied: "No, no, we haven't, it's new!" Later in the episode, Oti disclosed her least favourite foods, confessing her aversion to aubergine, cauliflower, and courgette as her food hell.
In keeping with the show's customs, Matt announced they were whipping up a sweet and sour duck alongside egg fried rice for Oti's food heaven. Conversely, for Oti's food hell, the culinary wizard on TV disclosed that a trio of bhajis featuring aubergine, courgette, and cauliflower with a curry sauce was on the cards. Viewers have the ultimate say over whether Oti delights in her food heaven or endures her food hell, with the dancer comically signalling to the camera: "Please, please!"
