While investigating one gun crime in the city on Friday morning, Saskatoon Police happened upon some unexpected evidence of an entirely different gun crime as well. Just before 9 a.m.

, police got a call about a woman pointing a firearm at another woman, and hitting her with the weapon, in the area around 22nd Street West and Avenue I North. Officers came and arrested a 36-year-old woman, who was found with an imitation firearm in her bag. She has been charged with pointing a firearm, possession of a weapon for the purpose of committing an offence, unauthorized carry of a concealed weapon, assault with a weapon and possession of false identity documents.



But a woman with a fake gun wasn’t the only thing the police found when they arrived on the scene When they checked surveillance footage from a business in the area, police saw that “a confrontation” between two men had taken place in the area just an hour before. “During the confrontation, one man produced a knife while the other produced and discharged a firearm,” police said in a statement. “Both men then left the area.
