Saskatchewan Polytechnic’s president says its record enrolment numbers are a sign that students value the programs it offers. According to a Wednesday news release, Sask. Polytech’s enrolment has hit an all-time high of 11,849 students in the 2024-25 fall term.

The new numbers are a three per cent increase from the same time in the 2023-24 school year. “We are incredibly proud of our steady enrolment growth and are grateful to our students for choosing Sask. Polytech to meet their educational and career goals,” Sask.

Polytech president and CEO Larry Rosia said in a statement. “This increase not only demonstrates the value of an applied education but also reflects our faculty and staff’s dedication to our students.” Among the main increases, the school has seen a nine-per-cent rise in certificate, diploma and degree programs.

There has also been a four per cent increase, to 1,170, in Indigenous student enrolments. Indigenous enrolment in certificate, diploma and degree programs has risen by 22 per cent, reaching a five-year high, according to the school. International enrolments increased by five per cent, year over year, and reached 3,361 students this fall.

Sask. Polytech says it remains committed to providing exceptional hands-on, applied education that aligns with current and future workforce demands..
