Saripadhaa Sanivaraam turns out to be a hit, not blockbuster?

Riding on good openings, hotshot Nani’s ‘Saripodhaa Saanivaraam’ turns out to be a hit movie for the actor but not a blockbuster as people assumed that it would turn out to be. “The film was bought for Rs 26 crores in the two Telugu states and it managed to recover that money after a week,” says a leading distributor-turned-exhibitor. “It managed to make Rs 28 crore plus share for distributors and is still counting," he adds.

On box office figures being pegged at Rs 36 crore plus making rounds, he explains, “We have to deduct 15% GST and other commissions to arrive at actual money reaching the hands of distributors. Nonetheless it has turned out to be a safe bet for Telugu distributors. Hence it is branded as a hit and not a blockbuster.



” No doubt, Nani has delivered another hit film after tasting success with ‘Hi Nanna’ and he is on a winning streak. “His plans to turn into an action hero have worked to some extent and this film has added to his confidence and he could explore a few more anger-driven roles,” he points out. He also gives some credit to Tamil actor S J Suryah's performance in the ‘Saripodhaa.
