More 48 devices, all controllable from the Saramonic app. Saramonic has unveiled its new K9 at NAB Show 2025 . This dual-channel digital UHF wireless audio system is designed to compete with other professional sound systems from the likes of Sennheiser and other pro wireless brands.
The Saramonic K9 is aimed at professional filmmakers, experienced sound engineers and broadcasting professionals. Whether for studio or location use, the K9 is there to provide broadcast quality sound without wires. The Saramonic K9 system provides wireless audio transmission using global UHF band compatibility, 32-bit float onboard recording as well as precise timecode synchronization.
Specifically engineered to be interference-free and with high-fidelity sound, the Saramonic K9 operates across an ultra-wide UHF spectrum ranging from 550MHz to 960MHz. The K9 features auto-frequency scanning that selects the most suitable and stable UHF channel available, even in an area where there is a congested RF spectrum. It also has GPS-based frequency updates that enables the system to offer seamless global compliance with government regulations.
The Saramonic K9 system uses transmitters and a receiver unit. With a 130dB input range and 120dB analog output, the Saramonic K9 system offers up cinematic sound quality and is able to capture everything from a quiet whisper to the loudest of explosions. And it’s all thanks to the use of 32-bit float onboard recording which is backed up by 32GB of onboard storage, making it easy to backup soundtracks.
The use of 32-bit float technology means clean audio can be captured without distortion making post-production much eaiser and more flexible. With wireless and wired timecode sync, the Saramonic K9 serves up frame-accurate audio-video alignment, which cuts down on the post-production slog. The Saramonic System app can manage up to 48 separate wireless devices, supporting remote frequency selection, gain control, real-time monitoring and even remote firmware updates.
Included with the system are 3mm diameter lavalier mics which Saramonic claims is the smallest and most durable in class which is also IP67 water and dust resistance. The K9 system has a dual-screen display setup which includes a top screen on each receiver for swift and easy access to the scanning info without having to dive into the sound bag. The K9 wireless audio system from Saramonic is powered by two AA batteries.

More lithium or rechargeable. Designed for both filmmakers and live broadcasters, the Saramonic K9 is a serious step up from the consumer wireless mics that have launched on the market lately using 2.4GHz digital wireless transmission.
Professional filmmakers and broadcasters often prefer to use professional digital UHF systems that are built to a much higher standard and are able to accommodate many more channels. By using UHF technology, the Saramonic K9 provides reliable, ultra-low latency wireless audio whether they are used on a film set, in a studio, covering live sports events or reporting breaking news. The K9 has advanced RF stability and a clear audio plus it can be powered with two alkaline, lithium or rechargeable AA batteries, delivering up to nine hours usage on the transmitter unit.
There is also support for USB-C fast charging when using rechargeable cells, making the K9 is suitable for use on extended shoots. The Saramonic K9 wireless sound system claims to offer more flexibility by being easier to integrate with a wide range of recording kit and sound setups. It can work almost any camera, sound recorder, mixer or mobile device, making it something of a universal solution for content creators looking to step up to a more professional level of sound wireless sound recording.

More system can work with a wide range of cameras, sound recorders and mixing desks. The Saramonic K9 system is available in two versions. The Global Version supports 32-bit float onboard recording, timecode sync and full UHF spectrum support.
The U.S. version is impacted by local patent restrictions in the U.
S. where the K9 cannot use 32-bit onboard recording and wireless transmission simultaneously. However, it the U.
S. version retains 32-bit float onboard recording and timecode features. This restriction is enforced through software control based on the unit’s geographic location.
When used outside the U.S., GPS detection enables full functionality of both 32-bit float recording and timecode synchronization.
The U.S. version is priced at $999.
99 and the Global version costs £949 and €999. Both versions can be purchased via S aramonic’s official website , U.S.
