Sarah Ferguson has spoken about Royal Family rows after King Charles and Prince Andrew's ongoing feud over funding . According to royal author Robert Hardman, Charles has cut financial ties to his younger brother after the Duke of York refused to move out of the Royal Lodge in Windsor, with his £1 million living allowance being withdrawn. The latest move is another step by the King to publicly distance himself from Andrew, after he was associated with Jeffrey Epstein .

Sarah, who was married to the Duke of York from 1986 to 1992, has remained close to her ex-husband, and the couple share two daughters - Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie. She’s now grandmother - or Gigi - to Beatrice’s daughter Sienna, three, and her stepson Wolfie, and Eugenie’s two sons August, three, and one-year-old Ernest. She spoke about her love for family traditions, and the author discussed how she deals with family rows amid the ongoing feud between Andrew and Charles.

“The three C’s: communicate, compromise, compassion. Family is the most important thing,” she told Bella magazine. Sarah and Andrew divorced in 1996, four years after they initially separated, but they have remained close, and even spend Christmas together.

Sarah has also spent several Christmases with the Royal Family , but she kept quiet on the traditions they enjoy over the festive season. “I’ve been very lucky to be invited to spend Christmas with the Royal Family in recent years, but I wouldn’t dream of talking about that,” she stated. She kept quiet on the relationship between Andrew and his brother, after it was claimed in Robert Hardman’s new book about the monarch that the Duke of York’s allowance had been severed.

After Andrew reportedly refused to move out of the 30-room Royal Lodge in favour of Frogmore Cottage, Charles instructed the keeper of the privy purse to “sever his living allowance”. Andrew has been living in the lodge since 2003, and Robert claimed: “The duke is no longer a financial burden on the King.” The Duke of York has been reliant on Charles's help since he stepped back from Royal duties in 2019 following outrage over his controversial BBC Newsnight interview with presenter Emily Maitlis.

The interview focused on the allegations of sexual abuse made by Virginia Roberts Giuffre, which he denied, as well as his friendship with the convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein, who was found dead in 2019. Andrew denied the allegations, and Virginia’s lawsuit was settled out of court in 2022. Follow Mirror Celebs on TikTok , Snapchat , Instagram , Twitter , Facebook , YouTube and Threads .
