pinterest After being away for five years, actor Sanjana Sanghi is excited to celebrate Holi in Delhi with her family. After spending the last few years in Mumbai, she missed the comfort of home during this colorful festival. "I made sure to return this year because I missed the simple joy of applying gulaal on my parents’ faces," she says.
The 28-year-old actress, who was last seen in the 2024 romantic comedy 'Woh Bhi Din The', is throwing a big party at her home in Delhi. With more than 30 guests expected, she looks forward to a lively event filled with colors, music, and fond memories. "A packed house, vibrant colors everywhere, and dancing non-stop to Bollywood tunes—this is what Holi means to me," she shares with excitement.
For Sanjana, no Holi celebration is complete without enjoying Delhi’s delicious food. "Butter chicken with naan is my favorite, so I’ve asked my dad to make sure there’s plenty!" she laughs. While she enjoys the festive atmosphere in Mumbai, she cherishes the unique excitement of Holi in Delhi, recalling her childhood celebrations filled with water balloons, pichkaris, and fun pranks.
Even while in Mumbai, she made an effort to bring the essence of Delhi’s Holi to her festivities. She set up a water pipe on her terrace to drench her friends and even tried to cook butter chicken over a video call with her parents, ensuring the spirit of Holi was alive. "It was both chaotic and heartwarming," she remembers fondly.
In Mumbai, she discovered the tradition of flower Holi and organic gulaal, which she has come to cherish. Still, she believes that nothing beats the happiness of celebrating at home. “It’s such an odd thing about growing up and building your life (away from your parents) that those things which you take for granted, you miss the most," she shares.
For Sanjana, Holi 2025 is a time to revive childhood memories, deepen family connections, and embrace the true spirit of the festival. Get the latest lifestyle updates on Times of India, along with Holi wishes , messages and quotes !.
