At CES 2020, Samsung unveiled Ballie, a tiny, three-wheeled, AI-powered robot for your home that can help you with many tasks. At CES 2024, the brand demonstrated it, and yesterday, the company announced that the product features Gemini and that it would launch the robot in the Summer of this year. Well, the tech giant has now posted a video on YouTube showing some of the things that Ballie can do.
In this video, Samsung demonstrates three of the many things Ballie can do. First, if you tell the robot that you want to change your hairstyle, it can project the trending hairstyles on the wall. Second, if you ask if anything exciting is going on, it can show you trending videos.
Third, before you leave for work, if there’s traffic on your way to the office, Ballie can remind you to leave for work early to compensate for that.Ballie can help you with even more thingsAt CES 2024, Samsung had given a real-life demonstration of Ballie, showing that it can help you with workout, check what’s inside Samsung refrigerators with cameras and remind you which groceries to refill, project the inside of Samsung microwave ovens with cameras on the wall to check how the food is coming, show videos of recipes to help you cook, and display air quality. However, specifications of the Ballie, including its processor, camera, and battery life details, are still unknown.
We also don’t have the full scope of functionalities that it offers. We expect Samsung to reveal those details before it makes the product available to purchase. Initially, the brand will offer it in its home country, Korea, and the US, and then in the rest of the world.
