The Samsung Galaxy S25 series, anticipated to launch in January 2024, is poised to bring a significant enhancement for those who favor wireless charging: compatibility with the Qi2 wireless charging standard. This innovative technology is designed to facilitate more efficient wireless charging through the use of magnets that ensure proper alignment between the device and the charger. Samsung's choice to adopt Qi2 in its flagship models is expected to have a considerable influence on the wider Android market.

The integration of Qi2 in the Galaxy S25 series will allow for faster and more efficient wireless charging at a maximum of 15W. However, it is important to note that this support is limited to a 15W charging speed, which is relatively modest when compared to the wired charging capabilities offered by many Android devices today. Although the magnetically attachable wireless charging feature is a significant highlight, it appears that Samsung is not focusing on substantial improvements in wired charging speeds for the Galaxy S25 series.

As per the FCC database, the Galaxy S25 model will continue to utilize the EP-TA800 charging adapter, which provides only 25W fast charging. This is considerably lower than the charging speeds achieved by its competitors, many of which have surpassed these rates. Even Apple has recently matched Samsung's wired charging capabilities.

Conversely, the Galaxy S25+ and S25 Ultra models are expected to support 45W fast charging, catering to users who prefer wired options. Regarding battery capacity, it seems that Samsung does not intend to implement any significant changes. Samsung Galaxy S25 series to match S24 price in Europe, US launch may follow - https://t.
