Samsung has started the mission S Pen this year by removing Bluetooth support on the Galaxy S25 Ultra but will the brand consider removing the accessory? Samsung is heavy on the news agenda in the last few weeks. The company’s Galaxy S25 Edge model was supposed to launch this month, now seemingly will happen in May. The Android 15 update for last year’s Galaxy phones and foldables is out this week but everyone hasn’t got it yet.

And now, the company is also eyeing the next few years of its product roadmap which is unlikely to involve the popular S Pen. Yes, Samsung is reportedly keen to ditch the S stylus from its Galaxy Ultra model in the next few years. We have already seen the S Pen lose an important feature with the S25 Ultra and that could just be the start of things to come.

S Pen Losing Value? The reports say Samsung is ready to ditch the S Pen on the Galaxy S27 Ultra model and make use of the space to increase the size of the battery. The stylus does take a lot of space within the Ultra model (Galaxy Note before this) and Samsung is probably seeing less value for the Pen which the brand could offer as an additional accessory like Apple does with the iPads. Blessing In Disguise? For many years, the S Pen on the Galaxy Ultra model has offered versatile features that lets you access the phone’s camera wirelessly but now that won’t be possible.

Reports say the brand asked its users and found out that most users did not use the wireless S Pen features, so decided to remove Bluetooth support for the stylus. And we could see things go further with the S27 Ultra, while the S26 Ultra will have support and place for the S Pen on the device. Having said that, if the brand does manage to bump up the 5,000mAh battery on its flagships, these changes won’t be that big an issue for the buyers.
