Samsung is currently working hard to try to resolve the difficulties its chip factories have been experiencing recently. They are also focusing on getting everything ready for their next generation of chip manufacturing processes. The company’s efforts appear to be about to pay off.

According to recent reports, Samsung could surpass Apple in offering devices with 2nm chips in the commercial market. The 2nm process will be the next big step for chipmakers. The technology aims to offer greater energy efficiency and raw power to take the performance of next-gen flagship SoCs to the next level.

Currently, major foundries are working to get things ready to launch their 2nm processes on time. In particular, Samsung and TSMC—the manufacturers of Qualcomm and Apple chips—are in the race.Samsung could surpass Apple in launching devices with 2nm chipsThat said, renowned analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicted on X/Twitter that the iPhone 18 series will be Apple’s first devices with 2nm chips.

The Cupertino giant is expected to announce these handsets sometime in H2 2026. However, Samsung is currently focusing all its efforts on having its 2nm process ready on time. The company wants its 2nm Exynos 2600 chip to power most models on the Galaxy S26.

According to reports, Samsung is making significant progress with its 2nm process. It seems the company is doing much better with the 3nm process. The firm even established a new team at Samsung Foundry with a specific focus on optimizing both the 2nm process and the Exynos 2600 chip.

Samsung typically unveils its new Galaxy S flagship phones in Q1 of each year. So, if all continues to go well with the Exynos 2600 development process, the Galaxy S26 models will hit the market several months before the iPhone 18 series. This would be a major milestone for the South Korean giant, considering the countless issues that have plagued Samsung Foundry.

Samsung could even beat Qualcomm to launching a 2nm chip. Some sources claim that Qualcomm’s first 2nm Snapdragon SoC will arrive in 2026. More specifically, it would be the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 3.

The upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 2 is expected to keep the 3nm process. If Qualcomm launches the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 3 on the usual dates, we will have to wait until Q4 2026 to see it.The post Samsung could be the first to launch phones with 2nm chips appeared first on Android Headlines.
