Excelsior Correspondent SAMBA, Jan 04: Samba police today booked a notorious criminal under the Jammu & Kashmir Public Safety Act (PSA) and lodged him in District Jail Kathua. Police said the notorious criminal namely Akash Kumar, son of Khem Raj of Chack Haria tehsil Marheen district Kathua has been booked under PSA after obtaining formal detention order from the District Magistrate Samba. The booked criminal has been subsequently lodged in District Jail Kathua, police said.
The criminal is involved in multiple cases registered against him at Police Station (PS), Ghagwal of district Samba and PS Rajbagh of district Kathua. His repeated criminal activities have posed a serious threat to public peace and tranquillity in the region, police said. In order to refrain from indulging in criminal activities, a dossier under PSA was recommended by SSP Samba against him, upon which the District Magistrate Samba after getting satisfied issued a PSA warrant against him, police said.
The arrest was made by a police team headed by SHO PS Ghagwal under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Samba and under the overall supervision of SSP Samba,Varender Manhas..
