By absorbing vast amounts of carbon dioxide, forests are crucial in our fight against global warming,” it read.

The petition, which already has 97,740 signatures, strongly requested the concerned authorities to roll back the proposed auction of Kancha Gachibowli forest land by TGIIC. “Safeguarding our environment is not just an ethical commitment but a survival imperative,” it said and asked more to join the petition. The State government recently decided to auction the 400 acres of land in Kancha Gachibowli and started clearing the trees besides levelling the land as part of pre-auction process.
