Sam Jaeger says he can't decide if doing a Parenthood reboot is a good idea or not. At the PaleyFest LA 2025 The Handmaid's Tale event on March 26, Jaeger tells PEOPLE exclusively that he's a "little bit" scared that a reboot might ruin the legacy of the series, which ran from 2010 to 2015. Jaeger, 48, tells PEOPLE, "Sometimes these shows, when they come back you almost wish that they just stayed where [they were.

] was. So I'd have to be sure. I want to protect what's there.

But at the same time, parenting has changed so much since we finished that show. And so I think it'd be interesting to revisit that aspect of it." He's not totally opposed to the idea of a reboot, though.

Jaeger, who played Joel Graham on the fan-favorite series, says that he just goes back and forth with the idea. "It's such a beautiful show and sometimes you want to do it and feel like it has the same love that was put in," he notes. Jaeger also tells PEOPLE that the cast and crew of both Parenthood and The Handmaid's Tale , premiering its sixth and final season April 8 on Hulu, was "just chock full of wonderful people to work with," so the chance to work with Lauren Graham , Mae Whitman , Dax Shepard , Peter Krause , and others is the one draw of rebooting Parenthood for him.

Yeah, I think I'd do that. Alright. You got me thinking about it though, and that's interesting," Jaeger tells PEOPLE.

The topic of a Parenthood reboot also recently came up on the March 8 episode of Shepard's Armchair Expert podcast , with Graham as a returning guest. The two played Braverman siblings, Crosby and Sarah, respectively, on the NBC series and broached the topic of rebooting the show almost a decade after its series finale. " “And there is a version of that show I would probably do if it were eight episodes or 10 episodes, and it wasn't like a thing where I couldn't manage my now real job," he continued, referring to his podcast with co-host Monica Padman. "I don't care how it turns out, I just want to hang out with you guys again." Graham, 58, generally agreed with Shepard's idea that a Parenthood reboot would work with a shorter format, similar to the 4-episode reboot of The Gilmore Girls she did with Netflix in 2016. She noted that something like a holiday special or a movie would work for a Parenthood reboot. "That's what I think the Brits do so well with their beloved shows," Graham said.

She added, "I have said, if somebody calls me to do [a Parenthood reboot], I'll do it." Until then, fans can stream Parenthood, as well as Seasons 1-5 of The Handmaid's Tale , on Hulu. Read the original article on People.
