
OpenAI’s latest ChatGPT image generation update has unleashed a tidal wave of AI-crafted Studio Ghibli -style visuals across social media, from profile pictures to memes and reimagined film posters. The trend has surged to such heights that OpenAI CEO Sam Altman recently took to X to plead with users to "please chill on generating images" citing "insane" demand that’s left his team scrambling. In a series of posts, Altman revealed the strain behind the scenes.

" To cope, the company rolled out some restrictions. Free-tier users, previously enjoying unlimited image generation, are now capped at three images daily. Paid subscribers for ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Team and select users retain broader access, though temporary rate limits apply across the board.
