A SAVVY shopper managed to find a pair of sweatpants that typically sell for hundreds of dollars. While perusing her local Salvation Army store for affordable second-hand clothing , she came across the rare gem. "So I found these sweatpants," explained TikToker and expert thrifter Monica Paulino ( @monicaampaulino ) in a video .
"They're made by the brand Thom Browne — don't know it." Monica quickly showed viewers the navy blue sweatpants, which featured three white stripes in the left quad area and stitching details by the shin on the same side. "They felt really high quality, I don't know they just felt thick, nice, and super comfy," she added.

After some searching, she was flabbergasted at their price listing for a new pair — nearly $800. "Isn't that unbelievable?" she asked.
FEEL IT OUT Monica emphasized that fellow thrifters "must learn" what quality material feels like, otherwise they could miss out on the "good" stuff like the sweatpants. Most read in Money Had she not known and never felt them to make sure, the pair could've easily been passed up, meaning serious money lost in a potential re-sale opportunity. Or, for those interested and who have always wanted Thom Browne clothing but couldn't afford it, the sweatpants may have also gone unnoticed.
Some fellow thrifters agreed with Monica's top tip. "Knowing how to feel quality is a must!" someone exclaimed. "That's how I tell now lol by just feeling the quality of the item! Great score," another added.
"I was gifted with this talent fortunately/unfortunately," a third wrote. Here are some of the best thrift store finds: Tiffany & Co. earrings that sold for $0.

BAG BONUS Monica isn't the only thrifter to get lucky on a cheap find with a much higher price tag coming directly from the manufacturer. Another TikToker showed off a designer-looking handbag she located at her nearest Goodwill location earlier in March.
It had a tag with a price listing of just $12.99 in-store, but she quickly noticed the Altuzarra logo. After some quick searching, the influencer confirmed it was the 2015 leather navy Ghianda Knot Tassel Hobo Purse.
An eBay listing was selling the same item for $1,169. In 2015, Altuzarra sold it for $2,295. The shopper dubbed it her "thrift of the year" for good reason.
