Salma Hayek is opening up about an anti-aging procedure she recently underwent, while sharing some of her secrets to beauty and wellness at 58. The “Frida” actor, who has been vocal about her natural approach to aging, spoke to about why she decided to have an aesthetic procedure done on her neck. “I’ve been very consistent and very simple.
I didn’t go into any of the beauty trends, not in my 30s, not in my 40s, and not in my 50s, but the only thing I’ve been using consistently is radio-frequency treatments,” she told the publication. Hayek continued, “They worked for me until I hit a plateau. I told myself, ‘It’s time.
’” Hayek said she started to feel like her neck resembled a turkey. While doing research on her options, she shared that “it was starting to look like the real solution was going to be the knife, which I’m terrified of.” The actor then explained that she received a call suggesting she try the new Ultherapy PRIME procedure, which uses ultrasound technology to increase the skin's collagen production.
The result is tighter, lifted skin, the claims. “I had not even tried the regular Ultherapy before, but it was similar to what I was doing because I was already doing ultrasound,” she explained. Hayek ultimately agreed and subsequently became an ambassador for Ultherapy.
She is highlighted on the company’s website, which calls the procedure a “nonsurgical lift.” The actor revealed that a few weeks after the procedure she ran into Victoria Beckham, who she said noticed a difference in her appearance. “I was pleased,” Hayek said of her reaction.
During her chat with the magazine, Hayek also listed some of her other beauty, wellness and self-care tips. Hayek said she is a big fan of meditation and dancing. “I dance every day,” she shared.
“When was the last time I danced? When they were doing my makeup. They played Bad Bunny, and I said, ‘Sorry, I need to take a break.’” Hayek added that she listens to music at night when she removes her makeup and washes her face, something she only does once a day.
“I don’t wash my face in the morning because why would it get dirty while I’m sleeping?” she pointed out. “Enjoy putting the cream on, massaging your face, and putting the cream on your body.” Hayek said her self-care routine is “all about pleasure,” adding that she takes a more intuitive approach to fitness.
“I try to exercise while I’m putting on my cream. Stretch the muscles, it’s an organic way of working out,” she explained. “That’s what my rituals look like, non-robotic.
