Two courts in Khulna today sent former Khulna-4 lawmaker and industrialist Abdus Salam Murshedi to jail after rejecting his bail petition in four cases related to killing, attacks and violence. Senior Judicial Magistrate Takiya Sultana and Judicial Magistrate Altaf Mahmud of the two separate courts passed the order. On behalf of the accused, Barrister Tahsin Ahmed said that Salam Murshedi was produced before the court, and shown arrested in four cases.
His bail petition was rejected. Subsequently, he was sent to jail. Prior to this, the accused was produced before the court under tight security measures.
