(Staff photo by Brett Duke, The Times-Picayune) New Orleans Saints quarterback Derek Carr dropped his shoulder and tried to power through a Carolina Panthers defender in the second half of Sunday's blowout victory , but head coach Dennis Allen had a message to get across to Carr later on. Carr clearly enjoyed the moment where he tried to get physical with the Panthers defender, flashing a wide grin and laughing after the play.

The Saints eventually got in the end zone on an 18-yard pass from Carr to Alvin Kamara to push the Saints' lead to 37-3, but Allen was quick to meet his quarterback when he got back to the sideline. "We're just trying to show our city how much this means to us, and I was told not to lower my shoulder anymore because of that," Carr said. "I was just trying to show my teammates, our city, our organization that I'll do whatever it takes for us.

But D.A. cussed me out, and said don't do that again.

" The lowering of his shoulder wasn't the only moment that Carr showed some intensity on the field. He also flexed for the crowd after a first down and talked trash with a member of the Panthers defense in the second half. Derek Carr šŸ—£ļø Ā« Nous voulions montrer aĢ€ cette ville que cā€™est important pour nous [.

..] Je ferais nā€™importe quoi pour eux, mais Dennis Allen mā€™a maudit et demandeĢ de ne plus le faire (sā€™engager avec lā€™eĢpaule au sol) Ā» šŸ˜… pic.

"I know that when we play well, because the standard is so high here, that we'll have their heart. When we have their support like that, you see them taking timeouts on third downs, taking timeouts down in the red zone. When they're behind us like that, it's such an advantage for us as a team.

" Carr completed 19 of 23 passes for 200 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions in the game..
