Saints' latest loss pushes them to a new low that they have not felt in nearly two decades

Another week, another frustrating performance from the New Orleans Saints. The first two weeks of this season were glorious for Dennis Allen's team. Now, for over a month, they look like one of the weakest teams in the entire NFL. New Orleans sits at 2-6. They're way behind the eight ball in terms of making the postseason.

Another week, another frustrating performance from the New Orleans Saints. The first two weeks of this season were glorious for Dennis Allen's team. Now, for over a month, they look like one of the weakest teams in the entire NFL.

New Orleans sits at 2-6 . They're way behind the eight ball in terms of making the postseason. Further than that, they sit in the top five of the 2025 NFL Draft.

They are among the worst of the worst in the league right now. Saints' losing streak dates back nearly two decades According to Katherine Terrell, the Saints have not los six games in a row since the 2005 season. That's almost twenty years ago.

Seems less than ideal. The Saints have not lost six straight games since the 2005 season Mickey Loomis has continued to back Allen on multiple occasions, dating back to last season. His recent comments about fans focusing too much on results continue to bite him.

Loomis wants everyone to look at particular hurdles that Allen has dealt with during his tenure. Many of those obstacles have been created due to the salary cap situation, as well as decision-making inside games from Allen. Loomis did not admit anything of that sort, though.

com/qeUGfenWA3 Injuries have made the task harder. Allen lost his starting quarterback a few weeks back, too. Some of it is out of the coach's control.

That being said, continued mistakes like penalties on both sides of the football and miscommunication on defense have become a trend for New Orleans. Those are controllable problems, and they are not new for the Saints under Allen. Allen discussed an intention to play better football when asked about the team's plan on buying or selling at this year's trade deadline.

That's great to talk about to the media, but the output on the gridiron has not matched that sentiment whatsoever. "We don't have any intention to (sell). We have intention to play better football.

" The Saints do not play complimentary football, and this, somewhat historic, losing streak has put those problems on full display. This article first appeared on A to Z Sports and was syndicated with permission..
