Sainsbury's and Argos say air fryer 'could catch fire' and urge customers to return it

Supermarket giant tells people 'stop using it immediately'

An urgent alert has been issued for people who bought an air fryer amid concerns it could overheat and catch fire. Argos and Sainsbury's have issued the alert saying people should return it back to stores. Ayone who has one of the three models of Tower Airfryers is being told 'stop using it immediately' and to check the batch numbers.

Impacted batch numbers: Argos said: "A small number of units have been identified as having a potential manufacturing default that could cause the air fryer to overheat and pose a fire risk." It added: "Please stop using the item immediately, and check if you have an affected product by locating the product number on the base of the air fryer. "Once you have identified that your product is impacted.
