Peshawar - Advisor to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for Information and Public Relations, Barrister Saif, has strongly criticised the current economic policies of the federal government, stating that the leader who provided electricity at Rs 15 per unit is behind bars, while those charging Rs 40 per unit are living in luxury. He said Imran Khan’s so-called “crime” was providing petrol at Rs 150 per litre, whereas the current government has increased its price to Rs 300 per litre. He questioned the decision to offer only a Rs 7 relief, urging authorities to explain who was responsible for making essential commodities unaffordable.
Barrister Saif also noted that crude oil prices in the global market have dropped by another 7%, yet this benefit is not being passed on to the public. Referring to global market trends, he said the price of petrol in Pakistan should be below Rs 100 per litre.
