LAS VEGAS — Every time Scott Angus puts on his signature scarlet sequin jacket, puffy red wig and see-through shades, the stinging memory of the first day he wore it in public comes back: March of 2022, days after his beloved Rutgers basketball team suffered a soul-crushing double-overtime loss to Notre Dame in the First Four round of the NCAA Tournament. He shelled out $100 on Amazon for the outfit and spent a few more bucks on March Madness tickets a couple days prior, when he had no doubt that the Scarlet Knights were going to bury the Irish in Dayton and set up a first-round game near his San Diego home. When they broke his heart, Angus figured he and his jacket might as well go to the games anyway.

At Viejas Arena, opposing fans swarmed him with as many compliments on his attire as patronizing back pats for his basketball team. Live from Vegas. A @RutgersMBB fan with a dual Dylan and Ace signed jersey.
