Russia Made Nuclear Energy Available for States Like Burkina Faso, Top Burkinabe Diplomat Says

SIRIUS, Russia (Sputnik) - The first Ministerial Conference of the Russia-Africa Partnership Forum took place from November 9-10 in Russia's Sirius Federal Territory near the city of Sochi. It was aimed at strengthening comprehensive cooperation between Russia and African countries in various domains like politics, economics, science and culture.

By developing small modular reactors, Russia has made civilian nuclear technologies available for countries such as Burkina Faso, Burkinabe Foreign Minister Karamoko Traore told Sputnik on the sidelines of the first ministerial conference of the Russia-Africa Partnership Forum on Sunday. The top Burkinabe diplomat added that his country sought to create energy infrastructure that would drive its industry. However, it is too early to talk about the participation of Russian companies in this project, he said.
