North Dorset Rugby Football Club has secured sponsorship from David Wilson Homes.

The housebuilder will support two significant fundraising festivals—the Minis and Rugby Sevens. The Minis festival, which attracts nearly 100 teams from across the South West, raises funds for the club's annual tour. Peter Duke, the club's sponsorship and finance director, said: "The Minis festival makes it affordable for our minis to go on tour.

"It's so important for us to celebrate rugby participation by young people, which is why the Minis festival is such a key event in our calendar." The Rugby Sevens festival, set to take place on Friday, July 4 and Saturday, July 5, is expected to draw 2,000 attendees. This event raises money for Cardiac Risk in the Young and James Hall’s Big Recovery.

Mr Duke said: "We support Cardiac Risk in the Young in honour of one of our players, first team captain Max Biles, who sadly died following a seizure aged just 29. "We have also pledged to raise £5,000 for James Hall, a first team young rugby player who took part in a triathlon, came off his bike and is now in a wheelchair." Megan Hamlyn, marketing manager at Barratt David Wilson Homes, said: "We are committed to helping the communities where we’re building.
