Rosie O'Donnell's daughter 'rots in jail' while mother advocates for Menendez brothers

Rosie O'Donnell received backlash from her daughter for supporting the Menendez brothers . Rosie's daughter, Chelsea Belle O’Donnell, was detained and booked into jail in Wisconsin after a police issued a search warrant in September. She was charged with multiple felony counts - neglecting a child, possession of methamphetamine and maintaining a drug trafficking place.

She was also charged in October with four misdemeanors which were possession of THC, drug paraphernalia and illegally obtained prescription drugs, as well as disorderly conduct. To Chelsea, her mother cares more about the Menendez brothers, Lyle and Erik, than her own daughter. Rosie believed the brothers were molested by their father, Jose Menendez .

In a recent interview with Variety, Rosie claimed that after appearing on Larry King Live! 30 years ago, she received a letter from Lyle, 56. However, Barbara Walters, Rosie's former co-host on The View, cautioned her against endorsing the siblings at that time.

Rosie said: "I was out to lunch with Barbara Walters and our publicist Cindy Berger, and I said, 'Barbara, you’re not going to believe this, but guess who wrote to me — Lyle Menendez.' Barbara said, 'Ignore him, he’s a murderer. He’s very cunning.

'" Prior to the premiere of the Max documentary Menendez: Monsters or Misjudged in 2022, Rosie listened to Barbara. This event led Rosie to publicly show her support for the brothers. When the comedian's daughter was arrested and made headlines, Rosie made a post on Instagram and spoke out.

She wrote: "Chelsea is in the news today - this is a photo from a better time - here is the family comment. Sadly this is not new for our family - chelsea has struggled with drug addiction for a decade - we r all hopeful she will find her way out of this deadly disease." Chelsea admitted to the Daily Mail that she did "have a drug problem" and "needs to go to rehab.

" Chelsea said that she "never killed anyone like the Menendez brothers" and that her mother "turned her back" on her. The two had a rocky relationship but they rekindled in 2018 after Chelsea had her first child. The Mirror has reached out to Rosie's rep for comment.
