Rory McIlroy broke down in tears after defeating Justin Rose to win the Masters and complete the career Grand Slam at Augusta National before telling his friends: "i'm going to get a green jacket!" McIlroy was forced into a playoff hole against his Ryder Cup teammate after a gruelling round on Sunday, which saw the lead flip multiple times before McIlroy finally had a chance to win it. However, his putt on 18 went sailing past the hole and he was left to take on a playoff hole against Rose. The Northern Irishman birdied where Rose made par, and immediately broke down in tears.
After an 11-year wait for a major championship, McIlroy finally has the one he's been dreaming of. McIlroy immediately burst into tears and embraced friend and caddie Harry Diamond, before heading over to his wife, Erica Stoll, and their daughter, Poppy.
