Ronan Keating has sent birthday wishes to his “buddy”, actor Russell Crowe. The pair are business partners, both having invested in Muff Liquor Company. “Happy Birthday Buddy,” Ronan captioned a snap of the pair he shared to his Instagram story.

The image shows them laughing as they posed for a photograph at the opening of the company’s Donegal distillery last year. Ryan Tubridy, Alan Carr and Ed Sheeran are also investors in the business which was founded by Laura Bonner. Back in 2016, Keating was left red faced by a text sent to Crowe from his mobile phone by Michael McIntyre.

He appeared on the comedian’s TV show and played a game of ‘Send To All’ in which McIntyre composes a message from a celebrity’s phone and sends it to everyone in their phone book. The message sent from Keating’s number read: "Feeling a little insecure. Do you still think I'm hot? I mean Harry Styles, Bieber and that guy who plays Poldark.

.. Can I still compete with these guys?" Replies came from singer James Blunt, his brother Gary and of course Russell Crowe.

When the message came in, McIntyre asked: “Russell C, Who’s Russell C?” The Boyzone star shook his head in disbelief, closing his eyes and saying: “Oh god,” pausing and admitting: “That’s Russell Crowe,” to the delight of the audience. But it seems the Kiwi actor had sussed it out by responding: "Haha! Someone's got your phone mate!" Sherlock actress Amanda Abbington also responded to the message, hilariously asking: “Is this that guy from Westlife?”.
