Rohit Sharma and Ritika Sajdeh reveal the name of their son

Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma and his wife Ritika Sajdeh have revealed the name of their newborn son in a rather unique way. The couple, who welcomed their second child in November this year, shared the heartwarming news with their fans through social media. Ritika shared a picture on her Instagram story, which showed a personalized family ornament ahead of Christmas and holiday season.

It has four figures, each labeled with a family member’s name. The names “Ro (Rohit Sharma),” “Rits (Ritika Sajdeh),” “Sammy (Samaira),” and “Ahaan” were displayed, with “Ahaan” being the name of their newborn son. The name Ahaan, which is of Sanskrit origin, means "dawn" or "beginning," symbolizing a new chapter in the couple's life.

Their first child, Samaira, was born in 2018, and now, six years later, the couple has welcomed their son, whom they’ve named Ahaan.

Fans and friends from the cricketing world and beyond quickly congratulated the couple, sending their best wishes to the new parents. Rohit, who had taken a paternity leave to be with Ritika during this special time, stepped away from his training sessions in Australia ahead of the much-anticipated Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The news of the pregnancy was kept largely private, with speculation only emerging when Rohit’s potential absence from the first Test match in Perth stirred discussions.

Despite being away from the team to focus on his family, Rohit has continued to prepare for the upcoming series, practicing in the nets in Mumbai to stay match-ready and is set to feature in the second Test, scheduled for December 6 in Adelaide.
