Rocksteady is reportedly set to return to the Batman: Arkham series after the colossal failure of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. Rocksteady goes back to Batman After finishing with the Arkham series with 2015’s Batman: Arkham Knight , Rocksteady spent years developing its live-service Suicide Squad game. However, after the game failed to capture an audience, the studio is allegedly back in the Batcave.

According to XboxEra co-founder Nick Shapeshal, Rocksteady is reportedly already working on the next Batman game. As the studio’s bread and butter, fans could receive another single player adventure, or a multiplayer title similar to Gotham Knights . “Not sure which studio people’s dream is, but I heard Rocksteady are back making [the next Batman game],” the leaker said.

“I also think Sony are trying to moneyhat it.” PlayStation and Arkham While Sony’s involvement in the Caped Crusader’s next game isn’t actually known, it wouldn’t be too surprising. Back in 2015, PlayStation bought out the marketing rights to Arkham Knight, pitching it as a game fans had to play on PS4.

Arkham Knight’s PlayStation deal also resulted in exclusive DLC for PS4 players and a Limited Edition console . This included the Scarecrow Nightmare challenges and an exclusive skins pack that included Adam West’s Batman outfit. Warner Bros is also keen to continue banking on the Arkham name for future video game releases.

For example, the Meta Quest 3 exclusive VR game Batman: Arkham Shadow is canonically set within the Rocksteady universe, and also looks amazing . Whatever the case, fans have been craving a return to the Arkhamverse for nearly a decade, and single player games are a much safer bet than live service games right now. As games like Suicide Squad, Concord and many more die on release, Warner Bros should be looking to its successful Hogwarts Legacy release for its future plans.

Despite all odds, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is still available on Xbox Series, PS5 and PC with more content still on the way..
