June 13, 1948—March 29, 2025 Robert “Bob” Bagaason passed away peacefully in Rancho Mirage, Calif. on March 29, 2025 after a brief illness. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be missed by those who knew him.

Bob was born June 13, 1948 in Aberdeen, Wash. to the late Lowell and Jean Bagaason. Bob graduated from Weatherwax High School in 1966 and Central Washington University in 1970.



He married Linda Schnabel on June 13, 1970 in Ellensburg, Wash. Bob served in the US National Guard upon graduation from CWU, and began his teaching career in the Grays Harbor, Wash. area.

Bob and Linda welcomed their first daughter Tisa in 1973, and their daughter Bridget followed soon after in 1974. The family moved to Cowlitz County, Wash. in 1978 where Bob taught History, Health, PE and Traffic Safety.

After retirement, Bob was elected twice as Commissioner for the Port of Longview. He thoroughly enjoyed this position and was happy to give back to his community in this role. Linda and Bob enjoyed traveling to new and tropical locales, their favorite being the Hawaiian island of Kauai.

Most recently they enjoyed spending winters at their home in the Palm Springs area. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Lowell and Mary Jean Bagaason. He is survived by his wife, Linda Bagaason; daughter, Tisa McDaniel; daughter, Bridget Goodwin (Mark); sister, Janet Acker (John Acker d.

); brother, Doug Bagaason (Sally); grandchildren, Tanner McDaniel (Riley), Koby McDaniel, Clayton Carter (Kyla), Brynn Carter; and great-granddaughter, Sloane Carter. Bob is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Bob’s memory to the Sons of Norway, Longview Lions Club, or the Portland Shriner’s Hospital.
