New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft will be going another year without being enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter and Don Van Natta Jr., the Patriots owner will not move forward in the contributor’s committee after the group chose Ralph Hay as the lone selection.

Hay co-founded the NFL. Multiple sources told ESPN that they were stunned by Kraft's exclusion. "Hay didn't believe players should be paid," a source told ESPN .

"He sold the team after only four years. I don't know how he is seen as more deserving than Bob Kraft." This was the 13th year that Kraft was considered for induction but failed to advance out of the committee.

With how the Patriots are performing, his legacy could only be damaged after all he has done for the team. Kraft bought the Patriots in 1994 and was able to turn the organization around in a short time. 2001 began a run of dominance that saw New England win six championships, tied for the most in NFL history.

But after the departure of Tom Brady and Bill Belichick, Kraft's legacy has taken a downward turn. Whether it be facing misdemeanor counts of soliciting prostitution at a Florida massage parlor or the Patriots' struggles on the field, Kraft's ownership is being viewed through a new lens. While it can not be denied that his financial investment in the organization was crucial, his impact on the product on the field is becoming more of a question.

With Brady winning a championship without Belichick and the organization floundering at the bottom of the NFL, Kraft's legacy has taken a slight hit. So after another year where he is unable to make it past the committee, it is looking more and more likely that Kraft isn't knocking on the door of the Hall of Fame. While it does seem inevitable, the more time that passes from those Super Bowl wins the easier it is for voters to say that he isn't worthy of getting a gold jacket.
