Robert Downey Jr., who made a MARVELous comeback with the 2008 blockbuster hit Iron Man , reacted to the world's richest billionaire and Tesla boss, Elon Musk, who was once hailed as Tony Stark, the alter ego of the iron-suited superhero, cosplaying the character. The 59-year-old actor had approached Elon Musk to get into the character of billionaire philanthropist playboy in preparation for the very first Iron Man movie.
Speaking on the podcast, “ On With Kiara Swish ,” the actor said that he had met Musk only a few times and “ as an almost 60-year-old recovering white American male, I just wish that he would control his behavior a little more .” He added, ‘ But that's not on me. ” Robert Downey Jr.

Sam Rockwell, Jim Caviezel, and Timothy Oliphant were some of the actors who were originally considered for the role, until Favreau met Robert Downey Jr. The Marvel executives were not in favor of casting the Tropic Thunder (2007) and Chaplin (1992) actors, despite the push by Jon Favreau and Kevin Feige.
After the casting, the trio (Favreau, Fiege, and Downey) were given a tour of SpaceX by Elon Musk. Remarking on his meeting with Musk, the Iron Man actor quipped that Elon was someone with whom Tony Stark would have partied with or gone on weird trips and treks.
