Kilmacud Crokes boss handed three-year term with the Royals Kilmacud Crokes manager Robbie Brennan Robbie Brennan is the new Meath senior football manager having been proposed for the position tonight on a three-year term. Brennan, currently chasing a Dublin SFC four-in-a-row with his native Kilmacud Crokes, was recommended to succeed Colm O'Rourke in the Royal hotseat at a meeting of the County Management Committee and his appointment will be rubber-stamped at the next county board meeting. Brennan, who lives in Dunboyne and won a Meath SFC title as a player with the St Peter's club in 2005 as well as also later managing them, will be assisted in the role by Martin Corey and Joe McMahon.

Corey spent the past two seasons working as coach under his brother Vinny in Monaghan - where they went all the way to the All-Ireland SFC semi-final in 2023 - while McMahon was part of the Tyrone backroom team that claimed All-Ireland SFC honours in 2021 under Brian Dooher and Feargal Logan. This is not Brennan's first venture into management in Meath. He was previously involved during Bernard Flynn's ill-fated stint as Royal U-20 boss which ended when the Meath legend resigned from his post just weeks before the start of the 2021 Leinster U-20 FC.

Brennan and Lar Wall were the only two names nominated by clubs for the position following the controversial end to O’Rourke’s reign, and it is Brennan who has been chosen to turn around the county’s footballing fortunes over the next three years..
