Road set to shut for 26 days among among seven upcoming south Essex closures

A STREET set to close for almost a month is among this week’s public notices

Clifton Avenue, in Benfleet, will shut from its junction with High Road to Southcliff while new connection works are carried out by UK Power Networks. The closure will be in place for 26 days from February 3. An alternative route is available via High Road, Kimberley Road, and Kents Hill Road.

In Basildon, Fairlop Gardens will be closed for 12 days while Essex and Suffolk Water carries out new connection works next month. This closure will be in place from January 20, and drivers will be diverted via Hockley Road and Long Riding. Greenacres, in Hadleigh, will also be shut for 12 days while kerb and junction improvement works take place.



During the Essex Highways work, the closure will be in place from January 13. An alternative route is available via Greenacres and Scrub Lane. Two roads are set to shut while tree maintenance works are carried out this month.

Preston Road, in Westcliff, will be closed from Canewdon Road to St Helen’s Road, and from Canewdon Road to Leonard Road, for five days on Monday. Meanwhile, Ronald Hill Grove in Leigh will be closed in its entirety on December 23. In Billericay, Kennel Lane is set to close from its junction with Noak Hill Roundabout on January 6.

The closure will be in place for five days while new connection works are carried out by Essex And Suffolk Water. Drivers will be diverted via Noak Hill Road roundabout, Noak Hill Road, Bell Hill roundabout, Southend Road, and Hickstars Lane - with access only into Kennel Lane. Coxes Farm Road will also shut in Billericay for four days while UK Power Networks installation works take place.

This will be in place from January 4, and an alternative route will be available for drivers via Outwood Farm Road, Outwood Common Road, and Coxes Farm Road. For more public notices, visit .
