Mohammed Siraj was left frustrated after being denied the wicket of Zakir Hasan in just his second over of Bangladesh’s innings on Friday. The right-arm quick went all guns blazing in his opening spell, troubling the visiting top-order batter. The fifth delivery of his over hit Hasan on the pads, leaving Siraj delighted as he was confident to have trapped the Bangla batter in front.

The umpire wasn’t convinced, while India skipper Rohit Sharma didn’t opt for the DRS with wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant suggesting, “ Height nahi hain, nikal jayege leg-side (It’s not high but will miss leg-stump).” But the replay and the ball-tracking left Siraj fuming. India vs Bangladesh 1st Test Day 2 LIVE Siraj had bowled a tad fuller on leg stump, swinging back in.

Zakir Hasan looked to flick but played all around the ball and got hit on the pads. Siraj insisted on a review but Rohit Sharma felt that might be swinging down leg. After Siraj finished the over, the ball tracking showed that the ball was pitching in line and was hitting the leg stump.

While Rohit smiled sheepishly after watching the review, wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant apologized to the pacer for a wrong judgement. That was out. DRS not taken.
