In an incredibly sad indictment of the industry as we know it, Madrid-based dev Tequila Works is auctioning off all of its intellectual property and assets. The studio, which went bankrupt last year, is selling the rights to major releases like RiME and GYLT to the highest bidder. You may recall, Sony was actually signed on as the original publisher of RiME, but after a long development cycle, it was eventually self-published by the Spanish studio across multiple platforms, where it attracted positive reviews .

Each franchise’s auction will run for another 30 days, with both RiME and GYLT attracting bids of up to €15,000 (~$16,986) thus far. Also under the hammer is the excellent PSVR murder mystery The Invisible Hours and survival game Deadlight , as well as various other unfinished concepts. You can even buy the studio’s name and branding if you want to.

While we suppose there’s some solace in the fact that these franchises may get new life if purchased by the right people, it’s just incredibly sad to see creative works like these being auctioned off to the highest bidder..
