Surat: A rickshaw driver mercilessly stabbed a 40-year-old eunuch to death due to constant quarrels between them over ending their nine-year romantic relationship in the Umarvada SMC tenements on Wednesday. Police said a major fight erupted between the rickshaw driver, Kishan Jethwa , and the victim, Sanjana Kunvar, as the latter forced him to go with her to her house in Variyavi Bazar. As the arguments escalated, Jethwa brought a knife from the kitchen and started stabbing her indiscriminately.
Kunvar died on the spot, police said, adding Jethwa was arrested within a couple of hours. Primary investigation revealed both met over Facebook in 2016 and started living together. Jethwa used to ferry a group of eunuchs who went begging in the city.
Deputy commissioner of police (zone-3) Bhagirath Gadhvi told TOI: "They were close friends and might have fallen for each other. We are investigating the exact reason for their dispute." Salabatpura in-charge police inspector SN Desai said, "Kunvar would give Jethwa money daily for his expenses.
As Jethwa's mother stayed at the SMC tenement, he would also come to meet her. When his mother requested him to stay with her and leave such a relationship, he started living with his mother. However, Kunvar would come to his home and force him to stay with her.
" "On Tuesday night, Kunvar again came to take back Jethwa and stayed at his home overnight. In the morning, she again forced Jethwa to go with her. This resulted in a quarrel which turned fatal for Kunvar.
" After Kunvar's death, her brother Dadaram Jumde filed a complaint against Jethwa. Kunvar had three brothers and two sisters as siblings..
