Popular Australian WWE wrestler Rhea Ripley has revealed the extent of her injuries after being brutally ambushed by her rivals. Heel Liv Morgan and her “bodyguard” Raquel Rodriguez attacked Ripley in the backstage carpark during Wednesday’s airing of the WWE program NXT. Morgan and Ripley developed a poignant hatred for one another since Morgan claimed the Women’s World Championship from the Australian after she gave it up early this year because of injury.
This was only compounded after Morgan turned The Nightmare’s ex-boyfriend, Dirty Dom Mysterio, against her — and claimed him along with the championship belt. The rivalry became so intense that Morgan had to enlist Rodriguez’s help when she made a shock return at the Premium Live Event Bad Blood in early October this year. In recent weeks, Ripley looked to have been getting the better of Morgan until now, when she was jumped backstage by the duo.
The WWE confirmed on Twitter that Ripley would be out of action for an “undisclosed amount of time”. “Last night on NXT, Rhea Ripley was heinously attacked in the parking lot by Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan and her enforcer Raquel Rodriguez,” the statement read. “Following the brutal attack, it has been revealed that The Nightmare has suffered a fractured right orbital socket.
” Ripley took to Instagram, posting pictures of her injuries and a caption that left nothing to the imagination. “Mistake no.1 .
.. you left me breathing,” she said.
The attack comes just days ahead of the Raw champion’s Crown Jewel match against the current Queen of the Ring and WWE Women’s Champion Nia Jax from SmackDown..
