Houseplant expert Tanner The Planner – who has his own plant shop – takes in customer plants that need a bit of support. Taking in a drooping peace lily with brown leaf tips and no white flower-like blooms, the expert was quick to diagnose the problem. "First fault is we've got some browning tips here," the houseplant expert pointed out on his YouTube video.

The expert also noticed the build-up of minerals in the soil, which suggests the plant owner had been watering the peace lily with tap water. "That would also explain the brown tips here," he added. "Peace lilies are kind of sensitive to water quality.

" It's recommended that the plant be watered with distilled water, rainwater, or reverse osmosis water instead of tap water. The expert addressed the lack of blooms by suggesting that the plant was not receiving an adequate amount of light. "If your plant isn't blooming, maybe move it a little bit closer to the windows so that it can see more sky, and that way, it can bloom," the plant expert recommended.

Fans flocked to the comment section to write praise and to also ask more questions on how best to support their peace lily. One fan wrote: "Thank you for this! I was wondering why mine was getting brown in the tips." Another stated it was an "excellent video" and thanked Tanner The Planter for sharing his knowledge.

Jamie Butterworth, an ambassador for The Royal Horticultural Society (RHS), added that an "east-facing window" is an ideal location for a peace lily plant to thrive. "Make sure it's not too shady as they might not flower as well as they could do," Jamie added. Spring is the ideal time to repot a peace lily houseplant, but only if the roots have filled out their current pot.

It's also important to deadhead any faded flowers, "as the more you deadhead, the more flowers you'll receive". Peace lilies also like a high humidity household, which can be achieved by regularly misting the plant. By taking good care of your peace lily houseplant, you are guaranteed gorgeous blooms year after year.
