A well-known food and drink reviewer with more than 140,000 followers on Instagram has said one Ipswich pub serves the "best pint of Guinness in the town". Prime Mutton, whose real name is Jason Hackett, visited the Shamrock in Tacket Street after watching the Ipswich Town vs Manchester City match at Portman Road. The reviewer who also has more than 15,000 subscribers on YouTube, goes around the country following City.
On his travels, he tries and reviews pints of Guinness to find the best one in the country. Some of his viewers pointed him towards the Shamrock Irish pub on what was his first visit to Ipswich. A post shared by Jason Hackett (@primemutton2000abfr) In a video, posted on Instagram, he said: "After watching City stick six past Ipswich I didn't think I'd see anything better in Ipswich that day, but I was totally wrong.
"When I walked in I knew I was in a good place given the amount of Guinness being served but I was taken aback as I wasn't really expecting something as good as this in Ipswich. "A superb pint, a bit on the cold side but nevertheless. I've only been to two pubs in Ipswich but surely this is the best pint of Guinness in the town.
" Shamrock in Ipswich (Image: Tom Cann) In his videos, he describes the best pints of Guinness as "absolute creamers", highlighting the creamy white head that is commonly found on pints of the Irish stout. He said: "This is a creamer. This is a great pint.
I'd like it a little bit warmer because this is very close to being labelled an absolute creamer." The Shamrock business partners Gus Chrysomalis and Steven Wells (Image: Tom Cann) Steven Wells, who runs the Shamrock with his business partner Gus Chrysomalis, said: "It makes you very proud that people are coming in to your pub and doing reviews which go nationwide. "We are really pleased to be on the map and we're proud to put Ipswich on the map through this.
"The trick to a good Guinness is how it's poured, maintained and how it comes through the system. "We have a specialist system which makes sure it is meant to be at the recommended temperature and consistency. "There's no risk of contamination either with the cleaning fluids in the system which is unlike other traditional systems.
