RESULTS: Chris Mattos elected by tight margin

FAIRFAX – In a tight race, Chris Mattos pulled out a victory against Democrat incumbent Irene Wrener in the Chittenden North District for state senate. The close race saw Mattos win by only 437 votes. The Chittenden North District is represented by the towns of Milton, Westford, Essex Town and Fairfax.

In Fairfax Mattos won the town with 1,786 votes or 57% of the vote. Before the election Mattos served in the House of Representatives for the Chittenden-Franklin District in the legislature..
