A rescue cat urgently needs rehoming. Hugo, aged four, came into the care of Worthing Cat Welfare Trust in November. He has been living with a foster family since then, although they are not able to provide him with outdoor access which he “desperately needs”.
The charity says it has not received a “single serious request” to give Hugo a new home and his case is now “extremely urgent”. Hugo now needs to find a loving, permanent home within the next ten days or he risks being put back in a pen. A spokesman for Worthing Cat Welfare Trust said: “Aged four, Hugo has had so much disruption in his life and this poor cat needs a permanent home, with the outdoor access that he craves.
“A playful, friendly boy, he enjoys human company and could live with another young cat. He cannot live with young children but should be fine with teenagers. ” His fosterer said: "Hugo enjoys a stroke when he sees you, enjoys human company and he will come up to you as soon as you get in. "He has really come on leaps and bounds during the last few weeks. The last few nights he’s slept on my bed.
He’s very playful and loves interaction. Read more: Mum's shock after 'spayed' cat gives birth two weeks after she welcomes newborn "I think with the option of playing in a garden he will make a lovely furry friend for someone. Again another cat could be helpful to help him learn to play better.
" Hugo needs “a patient, experienced cat owner” who will work with the charity to understand his needs. A home visit will be required. Garden access is essential.
The trust welcomes adoption requests from Worthing, Arun and Adur districts and surrounding areas..
