By Evolve Editors Following recent reports, Suits: LA Season 2 is under consideration for renewal by NBC despite low ratings. The legal drama, a spinoff of the original Suits series, stars Stephen Amell as Ted Black and explores high-stakes legal battles in Los Angeles. NBCUniversal’s investment in the franchise and a slight ratings uptick have kept the show in contention amid major programming changes.

According to Deadline , the spinoff is still in contention due to NBCUniversal’s significant marketing investment. As per the report, the show is “a high-profile IP for NBCUniversal, and the network already invested a lot in marketing.” Despite the low ratings, “there have been a couple of recent rating upticks, including one tied to the return of original Suits star Gabriel Macht.

” Suits: LA premiered in February 2025 and stars Stephen Amell as Ted Black, a former federal prosecutor running a law firm in Los Angeles. Despite a premiere audience of 2.61 million, boosted to 4.

8 million after three days on Peacock, viewership has remained low (via Deadline ). The show’s Rotten Tomatoes scores currently sit at 39% from critics and 52% from audiences. Nevertheless, NBC appears willing to let the show “evolve its tone and pace to more closely resemble the mothership series,” as noted by Deadline.

The potential renewal arises as NBC faces broader uncertainty across its scripted slate due to upcoming primetime NBA coverage. NBC plans to reassign Tuesday night programming to NBA broadcasts and will add Sunday nights in January. The network has officially renewed only two scripted shows so far.

Most others remain at risk of cancellation as scheduling logistics drive final decisions. NBC executives are reportedly evaluating how to fill the remaining time slots. Deadline reported that any show “could get the ax” when referring to non-Wolf dramas.

Suits: LA will need to compete for fewer available drama slots as NBC finalizes its 2025–26 schedule. Originally reported by Anubhav Chaudhry on ComingSoon . Evolve Media is a publisher of leading enthusiast destinations.
