The Houston Rockets got some bad news during shootaround ahead of Friday's game in Boston. According to ESPN's Shams Charania, forward Jabari Smith Jr. fractured his left hand and will miss the next four-to-eight weeks.
Smith, the third-overall pick in 2022, has started every game of his NBA career, including all 33 of Houston's contests in 2024-25. The 21-year-old is averaging 11.9 points and 6.

In Wednesday's win over the Dallas Mavericks, Smith scored 12 points on 5-of-8 shooting. The 22-11 Rockets are set to square off against the Celtics on Friday, entering the game winners of five of their last seven. Houston holds the third-best record in the Western Conference.
