Manchester United are interested in signing Victor Osimhen this summer from Napoli to revolutionise the striking department. It would be a revolutionary addition if Ineos were to sign the world-class number nine this summer, setting the tone and letting the footballing world know that Manchester United are back.So far throughout Ruben Amorim’s reign, a new striker has became the undeniable priority with Rasmus Hojlund nowhere near good enough to play at the top level, at least not right now.
Due to this, United have been linked with a number of strikers, including some youngsters, however it is looking like Ineos will be adding a starter with Viktor Gyokeres and Liam Delap among those to be attracting Jason Wilcox’s interest. However, with Delap there is a fear United will be repeating the Hojlund mistake which has sparked a strong interest in ready-made goals which could come in the form of Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen.READ MORE: Everything you need to know about Man Utd’s new head coach – Ruben AmorimPhoto by YAGIZ GURTUG/Middle East Images/AFP via Getty ImagesVictor Osimhen asking price dropped to new low for Manchester UnitedOsimhen brings as close to a guarantee of goals as is possible in today’s game, with his outstanding 28 goals in 32 games this season while on loan for Galatasaray.
This summer, he will return to Napoli, where a permanent exit is expected to be arranged. United in Focus reported that Osimhen is United’s number one striker target, and now it looks like a bargain deal could be made.It is according to ESPN, that Osimhen is indeed eyeing a Premier League move this summer.
Osimhen has always dreamed of playing in England, and this summer could be the right time for United to pull off the deal. The report continues that Galatasaray have not option to keep Osimhen permanently, and he will be available for €65 million (£55.5m) this summer, a figure which could end up looking like the bargain of the year for United.
It is thought that United will have to beat interest from Chelsea and Arsenal who are both in the market for a new striker this summer. One sticking point for United is expected to be his wage demands, with a figure of €11m per year (£9.4m) after tax, expected to be his asking figure.
This works out at around £180,000-a-week, which is not extortionate for a player of his quality, but it comes in a summer when Ineos are trying to lower the wage bill.READ: Who is Victor Osimhen? While Osimhen’s are worth 30, so there is not that much difference.Either would be a top signing for United and, most importantly, a major improvement on Hojlund..
