He's considering his options...

Manchester United need attacking signings this summer, and one Premier League star appears to be on the Old Trafford radar.Manchester United were beaten 1-0 at Nottingham Forest on Tuesday night, with Ruben Amorim’s side posting a blank in front of goal.United had hit seven goals across wins over Real Sociedad and Leicester City, sparking hope that the goalscoring problems were finally abating.

United couldn’t find the net on Tuesday night, though, despite firing 23 shots at the Forest goal.Amorim even deployed Harry Maguire up front off the bench in a desperate attempt to find a goal late on.The quality just isn’t there in United’s attack on a consistent basis, and that will surely mean investment in the final third summer.

It’s stated that United see Semenyo as a ‘strong option’ for this summer’s transfer window, but other Premier League clubs are also keen.Arsenal and Liverpool are looking at Semenyo, with the Bournemouth ace ‘understood to be considering his next steps’.Semenyo only signed a new five-year contract last summer, meaning Bournemouth are in a position to demand more than £50million.

United would need to dig deep to strike that deal, given how many other areas need attention, but Semenyo certainly appears to be a target.Antoine Semenyo dazzled Dimitar BerbatovUnited watched Semenyo score at Old Trafford earlier this season, bagging the third in a 3-0 win for the Cherries.Amorim may well have been left Amorim impressed that day, and the 25-year-old has been a threat throughout the season.

Semenyo has bagged seven goals and four assists in 29 games for Bournemouth, and his versatility could appeal to United, given that he can play up front or out wide.Semenyo even dazzled Dimitar Berbatov earlier this season, taking a brilliant touch before firing home to score against Manchester City.Speaking on Sky Sports (04/11/2024, 7:30pm), Berbatov suggested that Semenyo’s technique was ‘world-class’ and ‘unbelievable’.

“Look, it’s unbelievable, honestly – from a guy who always relied on the first touch – this touch is world class,” said Berbatov.“To control with the left, turn and finish with the right, this is mastery, this is unbelievable. That’s not luck, it’s pure control of the ball.

Pure Marco van Basten goal,” he added.Berbatov still holds United close to his heart and would surely love to see Semenyo producing those kinds of moments in the famous red shirt..
