Report: Bayern Munich could lean on Red Bull ties to land prized striker Benjamin Šeško

According to a report from Sport Bild journalists Christian Falk and Tobi Altschäffl (as captured by @iMiaSanMia ), Bayern Munich is interested in RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Šeško. While that might not be groundbreaking news, there is an interesting little twist within the report. The Red Bull background of Max Eberl and Christoph Freund could be an asset in this potential pursuit as it is believed the duo could convince Šeško to learn under the watchful eye of Harry Kane for what would probably be a season before taking the reins.

The supposition is that Kane will return to England in 2026 (given some of the recent reports, he could even bolt back to the Premier League as early as this summer): Bayern are interested in Benjamin Šeško. Max Eberl and Christoph Freund, who know the Slovenian striker well from their time at Red Bull, believe that Šeško would be patient enough to accept a season behind Harry Kane. Eberl, in particular, is a big fan.

Arsenal, Manchester United and Milan are also interested. There’s a gentlemen’s agreement between RB Leipzig and Šeško that they would allow him to leave for €70m. The rumored transfer fee would be manageable for Bayern Munich this summer, especially if Florian Wirtz re-ups with Bayer Leverkusen.

In a way, Wirtz deciding to stay another season with Die Werkself could be advantageous for Bayern Munich’s long-term squad planning as it would allow the Bavarians to make their move for Kane’s successor this summer, while building its 2026 transfer strategy around getting Wirtz. Hmmm..
