The Bryce Young era isn't over in Carolina, as the Panthers have rejected several trade offers for the former No. 1 overall NFL Draft pick. The Panthers announced this week that Young was getting benched.

Carolina is rolling with veteran quarterback Andy Dalton behind center in Week 3. But while Young has been benched, the Panthers are still committed to him for the future. NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport reported on Sunday morning that Young will probably start again for the Panthers in 2024.

But for now, the team feels that Dalton gives them the best chance to win. "This is something I felt like gives us our chance to take a step forward in our play style and to be able to compete this week against a really good Raiders team," head coach Dave Canales said of the decision this week. 1 overall NFL Draft pick, is looking like a pretty big bust early in his professional career. But it's still extremely early and perhaps we'll see him taking the next step in Carolina or elsewhere, like Baker Mayfield has done in Tampa Bay.
