Monday’s Veterans Day celebration marked the 20th anniversary of the Regional Veterans Memorial in Kennewick’s Columbia Park. About 150 people gathered around the freestanding 40-foot tall granite monument and surrounding granite pieces honoring all branches of the U.S.

Armed Services. The event included the annual flag raising ceremony by the Richland Knights of Columbus Honor Guard and Pasco American Legion Honor Guard and a rifle volley by the Kennewick VFW Post. Speakers included Skip Novakovich, retired Army Lt.

Colonel and current Port of Kennewick commissioner, and Kennewick Mayor Gretl Crawford. The memorial is designed as a place of reflection and gratitude, honoring all who have served and continue to serve in the United States Armed Forces..
